Hillman Day 2010

It was almost seven years ago that Corrie's best killer, Richard Hillman died and ever since I have celebrated Hillman Day... but ITV never join me in these celebrations and I thought it was time they did, so I wrote them a letter.

As I’m sure you are aware, it is fast approaching the seven year anniversary of the tragic death of Richard Hillman.

As one of Coronation Street’s best loved, yet most misunderstood characters, I was hoping that you may be commissioning some special programming to commemorate Hillman’s impact on the street.

My friends and I often gather on March 14th to celebrate “Hillman Day” and each year we are sadden that ITV1, the birth place of Hillman, don’t join in with our celebrations.

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your e-mail. I do wish we could help but commissioning of TV shows on ITV is up to the the Commissioning Editors at the ITV Network Centre not us here at Coronation Street however I will pass on your request to them. I wouldn't hold out much hope for this year as they need slightly more time than 3 days to produce at TV show.
