About Higgypop
The site is regularly updated with everything I get up to on the internet, including my latest podcasts, photos and YouTube videos. So, that's the website... what about me?
I am Steve Higgins or you may know me as Higgypop or just Higgy. I was born in Bristol, UK in 1980 which makes me 29 years old this year. Having lived in Bristol all of my life, I have recently moved to London to work as an online producer for an industry leading media company's Interactive department.
I have previously worked as a broadcast assistant for BBC Radio Bristol and for a few months presented a national weekend radio show on one of the UK's many digital radio stations. I have a huge interest in all form of media, particularly web based and broadcast media especially radio, which I am passionate about.
I spend a lot of my free time expanding and maintaining various websites I run using the skills I have taught myself over several years. When I'm not in front of a PC, I can be found exploring disused mines and bunkers, have a look at my other website Nettleden.com for more details on underground exploration.
It's an unusual hobby but over the last few years it's got me a little bit of media attention, I've been interviewed by The Times, The Guardian, Venue magazine, BBC local radio, Radio 4 and BBC Online.
Another interest which takes up a lot of my spare time is moving making. YouTube has given me the opportunity to express my self and exercise my creative by making videos which are potentially exposed to a huge audience.
Here are a few random question:
What would you put in Room 101?
Nothing, I try not to let things annoy me and instead enjoy the pleasure of watching other people get wound up by things.
What's the worst job you've ever had?
Working for a weird little news paper doing media sales.
Couldn't live without...
Internet access, my mobile phone and my excellent friends.
Celeb you've met who's a bloody nice bloke/bird
Chanelle of Big Brother, I love her - she is hot and sexy and actually very sweet and lovely (yes, very different to how she came across in the show).
Favourite part of the country
Either the Gower or Cornwall. I love the Gower cuz it's like a mini Cornwall and Cornwall is beautiful... in fact, the whole of the South-West (and South Wales).
Big Night Out or Pizza and DVD?
Can I add an option? I'd like to choose a little night out, just a few quite drinks in a quite local pub.
Celeb you reckon you'd have loads in common with?
Derren Brown, I don't know if I have loads on common with him but I would love to meet him, I think he would be the most interesting person to have round for a meal... if not Basshunter, he's a funny chap.
Favourite movie quote
"I hope I can make it across the border, I hope to see my friend and shake his hand, I hope the pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope." - Red in Shawshank Redemption.
